Ralph Tomlinson

Ralph Tomlinson may say he became involved with Shots in the Night after his son, Martin, wrote a play about school that caught the eye of Bill Clause, who was teaching the Communiversity class, “So you want to be in radio” five years ago. But the truth is that Ralph was corrupted at a young age by Firesign Theatre, a popular political comedy group that started on KPFK, a community radio station in Los Angeles, in the late 1960s. He has wanted to follow in their footsteps for more than 40 years. Ralph has even met two members of Firesign Theater right here in Kansas City at the Hear Now festivals. A mild-mannered librarian by day, Ralph turns into a radio personality monthly with Shots in the Night and loves every minute of it.
